FREDERIC GIARD
In 2006, I began my career as a litigation lawyer with Marchand, Melançon Forget (now known as Lapointe, Rosenstein, Marchand, Melançon), one of the largest independent law firms in Canada. I thrived professionally in this role and gained valuable experience from the get-go. In 2009, I elected to pursue a long-time goal and traveled extensively throughout Northern Africa, Europe and Asia to, among other things, appreciate the culture and business environment of various countries around the world. Thereafter, to enhance my knowledge in business, I opted to complete a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University.
In 2011, during my ongoing graduate studies, I joined the aerospace division of Bombardier where I oversaw all contractual aspects of over forty (40) successful aircraft deliveries of Bombardier’s flagship business jet: the Global aircraft. In 2014, I was appointed as Senior Contracts Negotiator for the business aircraft international market, negotiating new aircraft purchase agreements for Bombardier’s three families of business jets: Learjet, Challenger and Global aircraft. During my time at Bombardier, I had the privilege to work in different countries throughout Europe, South-East Asia and China, which unique experiences further refined my business acumen.
In 2016, after five (5) years of working in the Contracts and Legal Services department of Bombardier Business Aircraft, I decided to join forces with my colleague, Nadia Perrotta, former Senior Director, Contracts, New and Pre-Owned Aircraft, at Bombardier Business Aircraft, in order to lay down the foundation of a boutique consultancy firm in the aviation industry, namely Jetorizon Consulting Inc. I truly love the multidisciplinary aspect of the transactional work and believe in the need for demonstrating leadership, creativity as well as building and nurturing relationships in order to succeed in the aviation industry.
I am a graduate of University of Montreal (Civil Law degree - 2005), was called to the Quebec Bar in 2007 and hold an MBA (2014) from Concordia University. I now spend most of my time in British Columbia, where I can enjoy kite surfing, skiing and mountain biking in my free time. I speak both French and English.
